Make sure your speakers are on and your sound is turned up for these great music websites!
A favorite of our 5th graders during their science of sound unit is the Chrome Music Lab.
Need some review naming notes? This site is great practice!
Sfs Kids is a fun website from the San Francisco Symphony with instruments of the orchestra and a music lab where you can compose and play music!
Here you can find another cool music game called Musical Mysteries!
Practice identifying the sounds of different instruments here.
Try composing your own tune and playing a few song suggestions…
Here’s another place to hear sounds of various instruments and match them together.
And my personal favorite is this site called IncrediBox, click and drag different beats, melodies and effects to create your own music! Try the different versions of the site and don’t forget, you can click again to delete one of the sounds you chose and select another.
Dear Mrs. Beekman,
We are pleased to announce the start of the 2015-2016 season for The Virginia Choristers. Richmond-based, the Virginia Choristers is a diverse organization that includes multiple choirs to accommodate children at all levels of musical development. Led by nationally recognized educator Lynnelle Ediger-Kordzaia, the Choristers have recently performed feature concerts at the White House and in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center and have done international concert tours to Ireland, Austria, Canada, as well as U.S. tours to Vermont, Maryland, South Carolina, and Puerto Rico. This season the Touring Choir will be performing their debut in a feature concert in the Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall. Most importantly, while artistic excellence is of paramount importance, the Virginia Choristers is a joyful place where students feel a sense of belonging and pride. As one student said, “My favorite day of the week is the day I have rehearsal for the Choristers!” (M. Mullins)
I would love to talk with you about any recommendations you might have in regard to potential students. We also have scholarships available. Please take a look at our website to get a feel for what we do! We hope to hear from you soon and thank you for your help in this endeavor!
Warm regards,
Gaelyn Elliott,
Education and Outreach Program Director
