We are back in action and it is just wonderful to hear the stage filled with music again! Here are some photos of what we have been up to so far!
3rd Grade students are ready to receive their recorders this week after taking a quick pre-test to find out what they remember from last year. The results of the pre-test inform me which things we need to focus on this year to be certain the students meet SOL 3.1, which is all about reading music!
Each grade level also learned the music classroom rules song during the first week of school. My friend and fellow music teacher, Ms. Tillack composed the rule song this summer, and I thought it would be a great way to kick off the year! Here are some 5th grade students playing our Orff Instruments to accompany the rule song. Ask your child about the names of the three different Orff instruments they are playing in the picture!
