Some thoughts for the new school year

I came across this quote yesterday and it sums up my wish for this school year:

“…I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you’ll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you’ll make something that didn’t exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind.”
-Neil Gaiman

What can I do to help?

If you are ever wondering what you can do to support the music program at Westover, take a peek at my Donorschoose.org page!

The link is http://www.donorschoose.org/msprather and there you will find my latest projects to make our music program the best it can be. In these tough economic times, sometimes the resource teachers get forgotten. If everyone who visited our school Donorschoose.org page donated just $5, our projects would be completed in no time. What does a project completed mean? It means new resources for the school music program. It also means that the folks who donate get a sweet little package of thank you cards from our students, and you get to see photos of them enjoying the new things that you helped get for them! The neat thing about donating to the music, art, p.e., or library departments is that these resources benefit every student in the school.
